About Shari

Shari Bush served as the College Advisor at Cypress Bay High School in Weston, FL, for the past 18 years. She started with the school 21 years ago as a teacher and Guidance Counselor, before moving into the College Advisor position. Cypress Bay High School has 4,800 students of which 98% of the students are college bound. Shari has been instrumental in helping thousands of students get accepted to some of the top schools in the country including Harvard, Stanford, MIT, Yale, Duke, Caltech, and The University of Chicago. She is also extremely proud of her relationship with the Florida schools and helping students apply and get accepted to all the Florida universities yearly. Shari prides herself on the numerous innovative educational programs and presentations she provided the students, parents, and the Weston community, helping them navigate the college application process. Shari is an expert in advising students to be properly placed on the right track throughout high school, applying for scholarships and financial aid, and coaching them through all the stages of college application process, including selecting which schools to apply to, filling out the application, writing essays, testing, and making final decisions. Shari has traveled throughout the U.S. and abroad and has been hosted at more than 50 college campuses. She has represented her colleagues from Broward County at various symposiums and workshops as an expert in her field.  Shari served on the Advisory Board for University of Miami and Florida State University and is a member of the FBI Citizens Academy. Shari is recognized by her peers as a tireless advocate for her students.

In addition, Shari has spent the past 8 summers as the Academic Advisor and Program Director for a Pre-College Enrichment Program at UCLA. She has also developed Study Skills curriculum for grades 6-12 and has personally trained over 300 students over the past 10 years. Since leaving Cypress Bay High School, Shari has joined SeeMeForward, a nonprofit foundation, as their director. She is working with disadvantaged students throughout Broward County High Schools looking to obtain an education at a top-tier university.
